In this class we will go back to making our major scales, thinking about the WWHWWWH pattern. Then we'll practice our rhythms and do our first serious round of dictation.
Homework #1 (the survey ) and #2 are due. #3 is still in process, and I'll give you #4.
Homework #3: Piano Notes, Whole Steps, and Half Steps
This worksheet quizzes you about the notes on the piano, and it asks you to count out two small distances (half steps vs. whole steps).
Due date is Fri Jan 23.
Homework #4: Scales
Worksheet #4 asks you to create scales on a piano keyboard, "in the abstract" (just listing off the notes), and on a musical staff. Pages 27-28 in the theory textbook explain how to make your scales.
